Blair Chamber of Commerce: Family Talents Spur Business Success

Recently Black’s Home Sales, Inc. president, Dale Wronski, received a call from his favorite local journalist and Blair County Chamber of Commerce president/CFO, Joe Hurd. Mr. Hurd asked for an interview for the chamber since they were starting a segment featuring family-owned, local businesses. The resulting article is included here.

The interview was quite a trip down memory lane, both into the personal story of the Black’s leadership family team and the manufactured home industry in Central PA. Dale and Sally met while working together at the only manufactured home factory in Blair County – what is now called Atlantic Homes (a division of Champion Homes) but was at the time simply Champion Homes – so this industry has been part of the family from the very beginning. Both daughters remember cleaning display homes as summer jobs, playing around the office late into the evening while paperwork was being wrapped up and going to construction sites to drop off lunch.

There was also the excitement of each new advancement in the industry – the biggest of which was of course modular homes, “off-frame” and built to the IRC code. As you can see in the article, this genuine shared interest in providing the best possible home buying experience is what makes working with family a success.
